Pastor Chris and his wife, Jennifer, just started working with our youth in June, 2007. Their passion is to see our youth discover their true identity and come to find the solid foundation from which they can launch into the next phase of their lives, whatever it may be. They both graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, Chris with a Church Ministry Leadership degree, and Jen with a Social Work degree. For Pastor Chris this is actually a homecoming of sorts, as he grew up here at El Shaddai until he was ten years old. He also commuted here many Sunday nights throughout his high school years to help with the youth ministry here, and even interned here in the summer of 2004. Jen grew up just outside of Mobile, Alabama, yet somehow does not have a Southern accent. Chris and Jen both came to know the Lord at a young age, and both credit their families and youth pastors for preparing them for ministry. They also enjoy sports, movies, hanging out with friends, and music. They have no kids of their own at this time, but they have several of ours on Sunday nights, and there's always room for more!

Starting a Greeter Program
Four years ago I accepted the challenge of evangelism chairperson for our church. One of the first programs the pastor and I developed was the Sunday morning greeter program. -
Motivating the Right Person into the Right Ministry
One of the greatest challenges for most leaders is selecting and motivating the right people into the right ministry positions in hopes of minimizing turnover and frustration. Even in the smaller church with limited personnel, it is important to coordinate people and ministry as much as possible. -
“I TRIED, BUT NO ONE EVER CALLED ME”
“I tried, but no one ever called me” are painful words for a leader who has much work to do and not enough people willing to do it. These words are painful for the person who wanted to contribute, but was never called. These are also painful words for a person who is committed to helping people connect and contribute in meaningful ways within the church.
